Matcha Pound Cake is definitely not a traditional St. Patrick’s Day recipe, but the addition of matcha (green tea powder) to the cake creates a natural green coloring perfect to celebrate the day. I wrote a bit about matcha and where to find it in my Green Tea Muffin post. I think Chad is finally starting to develop a taste for green tea.
You can use either a 9″x5″ or a 8.5″x4.5″ loaf pan for this recipe. The 9″x5″ pan will create a slightly flatter cake.
