A recipe for an Orange Lemon Smoothie! This refreshing and creamy citrus smoothie comes together easily with a blend of orange, lemon, and yogurt.

We recently went to Disney World for Spring Break and visited EPCOT during the International Flower & Garden Festival!

Our very first (and favorite) festival stop was The Citrus Blossom. The food was great, but the booth was also inside the air-conditioned Odyssey Pavilion and perfect for a quiet break after such an early start to our day.

At this booth, we enjoyed the Orange Sesame Tempura Shrimp with Orange-Chile Sauce and the Orange Lemon Smoothie.

The smoothie came with a Souvenir Orange Bird Sipper Cup. Once we got home, Claire requested we recreate the Orange Lemon Smoothie so she could drink it in the cup again.

After lots of smoothies and taste-testing over the last couple of weeks, we finally came up with a Claire-approved drink!

This Orange Lemon Smoothie comes together in only about 10 minutes with a refreshing blend of orange, lemon, yogurt, honey, and vanilla. The resulting flavors are reminiscent of an orange creamsicle with a hint of lemon.

A Few Smoothie Tips

I used three medium Cara Cara oranges when making this recipe. If your oranges are larger, you may only need two.

If you want a more smooth drink or don’t have a strong blender, blend just the oranges and press through a fine mesh sieve before blending with the remaining ingredients.

Want even more orange flavor? Add the zest of one or two of the oranges to the blender before peeling.

Adjust the sweetness to taste. For us, two tablespoons (30 milliliters) of honey was perfect. Add more or less as desired. You can also swap for granulated sugar.

If you want a more creamy and thick texture, add a frozen banana to the blender with the rest of the ingredients. We tried it once while developing the recipe, but opted to keep the flavor more on the citrus.

If the mixture is too thick to blend, add a splash of orange juice or milk. If thinner than desired, add a little more ice for a frosty texture.

I added two teaspoons of vanilla extract to really bring together that creamsicle-like flavor. If you want to focus more on the orange and lemon, decrease the amount to one teaspoon or a small splash.

Serve the Orange Lemon Smoothie immediately after blending. The ingredients will start to separate with time.

I love citrus and feel that it’s not used enough in smoothies. This one sounds great.

I love how the lemon gives it just the right amount of tartness.
