This Strawberry Watermelon Smoothie is the perfect summer beverage with only three ingredients. It is also a great way to use up any leftover watermelon you may have from weekend picnics or BBQs. Like most smoothies lately, Evan couldn’t get enough and would probably enjoy more than a serving in a sitting if I let him. He drank all of his before I could even get a photo.
While I generally freeze fruit for smoothies, I would not use frozen watermelon for this particular drink. There is no added liquid in this recipe and the watermelon needs to completely puree to adequately blend the remaining ingredients.
If you want a little more sweetness, mix in some honey or granulated sugar. For a stronger strawberry flavor, increase the amount by 1/2 to 1 cup.
I used a star cookie cutter to cut thin slices of watermelon into little stars for garnish.
