Ingredients
3string cheese sticks
9thin pretzel sticks
9long chive leavesor sliced dark green leaves of green onions
Instructions
Cut each string cheese stick crosswise into 3 equal pieces. This should result in nine pieces in all.
In the top end of the cheese piece, use a wooden skewer or a small knife to gently make a hole the size of the pretzel, about 1/4 inch (6 millimeters) deep.
Use the scissors or a small knife to cut the bottom 2/3rds of each cheese piece into 3 strips. Turn the cheese to an uncut side and make three additional slices to create 9 strips along the bottom of the cheese- forming a shape similar to the frayed end of a broom.
Gently twist the pretzel stick into the hole at the top, being careful not to tear the cheese.
Tie a chive leaf around the top of the cheese piece, near the pretzel. Double tie if desired. Cut off the excess.
Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to a few hours.
