Secret Recipe Club

It is time for Secret Recipe Club again! This month, I was assigned Life on Food. In the Secret Recipe Club, each blogger is assigned a different blog each month. They secretly choose a recipe, prepare it, and post it on a designated day. It is such a fun group!

Emily is an Iowa native, but has lived in a few parts of the United States (and a semester in France-jealous!) before settling down in Connecticut and meeting her husband.

She got married just 5 months after me and has turned her husband into a foodie too. Love it! I’m slowly working on doing the same with Chad. Emily has such a great selection of recipes to choose from, but I decided to try her Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt. I had not attempted frozen yogurt at home and this seemed like a great place to start.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt

Butterfly, caterpillar, and ladybug shaped Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt.

This frozen yogurt is incredibly easy to make. You basically mix together an eggless chocolate chip cookie dough and fold in the yogurt. Transfer to a container and freeze overnight. No special equipment needed. I can’t wait to try more flavors.

Allow the frozen yogurt to sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to make it easier to scoop (unless you are using the silicone molds described below).

Since updating this recipe, more concerns have come out with consuming raw flour. I have included an extra step of toasting the flour in the oven first to help bypass that and add even more flavor to the yogurt.

For a fun twist, you can transfer the yogurt mixture to small silicone molds to create different shapes. I used an insect mold in the photo above. It also makes for easy serving. Just pop the frozen yogurt out of the molds and store in a freezer-safe bag until immediately before eating. They will melt quickly.
