A recipe for Strawberry White Hot Chocolate! Sweetened strawberries are puréed and combined with milk and white chocolate for a light and warming drink.

This Strawberry Hot Chocolate is such a great way to use up leftover strawberries! It would also be perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Sliced strawberries are tossed with sugar, blended, and whisked into a white hot chocolate. Overall, everything comes together in about 30 minutes.

The strawberries in this drink will create a light pink color. Add a couple of drops of red food coloring if you want something more vibrant.

Immediately before serving, I like to top the Strawberry White Hot Chocolate with either whipped cream or mini marshmallows. Add even more color with a pinch of seasonal sprinkles.

A Few Strawberry White Hot Chocolate Tips

Keep an eye on the milk while it is heating on the stove. Do not bring to a boil. It should only be steaming and starting to simmer around the edges. Milk tends to quickly go from cold to boiling over, especially at the exact second you turn your back.

Add the white chocolate and vanilla to the milk after removing from heat. If the white chocolate gets overheated, it may separate. If it does separate, using an immersion blender for a few seconds sometimes works to bring the mixture back together.

Adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of the strawberries. During peak season, you may be able to decrease the sugar to 1/4 cup (50 grams).

Toss the sugar with the strawberries and allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes to macerate (soften) and release some of the juice. Blend the strawberries until completely smooth.

Make sure to use a fine mesh strainer when pouring into the hot chocolate to catch the strawberry seeds and keep the smooth and creamy texture.

You can also substitute with defrosted frozen strawberries.

This Strawberry White Hot Chocolate is best served immediately after preparing.
