Secret Recipe Club

Today is a special Secret Recipe Club event! For those who haven’t seen my previous Secret Recipe Club posts, this club includes a group of bloggers who are assigned a different blog each month and secretly make a recipe to post on their specified reveal day.

Since August has an extra week, all the groups are coming together to celebrate Back to School.

The Secret Recipe Club- Cook. Bake. Blog. and Share.

For this event, I was assigned Micha from Cookin’ Mimi (no longer active). Micha started her blog in 2008 and has been cooking for as long as she can remember. She focuses on a mixture of Southern cooking and everyday favorites. Her recipe for a No Bake Cookie Smoothie inspired me to make this Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

This Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie is a great option whether you are looking for a quick breakfast, afternoon snack, or just a sudden chocolate craving.

Everything comes together in less than 10 minutes with very little prep! Simply combine milk, bananas, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, cocoa powder, honey, vanilla extract, and ice, then blend until smooth with a creamy texture.

For a fun presentation, I dipped the rim of each jar in melted chocolate or (runny) peanut butter, then coated them in a layer of chocolate sprinkles.

A Few Tips

The measurements listed are mostly just guidelines. The amount of honey may need to be adjusted based on personal preference. You can even substitute the honey for maple syrup or brown sugar.

Avoiding peanut butter? It can be swapped for almond butter.

If the mixture is too thick to blend, add a little more milk.

For an even creamier and thick texture, use frozen bananas.

To garnish, I topped each smoothie with a few extra banana slices, roasted peanuts, and cacao nibs. My daughter usually adds a few extra chocolate sprinkles.

This chocolate peanut butter smoothie sounds and looks so good. I love those chocolate sprinkles along the glass. I can’t wait to try this. Unfortunately my son has a peanut allergy, so I’ll have to hog this for myself!
