Christmas Sweets Week

Welcome to #ChristmasSweetsWeek hosted by Terri from Love and Confections and Christie from A Kitchen Hoor’s Adventures! What better way to celebrate the holidays than with food?

Bloggers from around the country have come together to share over 180 sweet Christmas recipes!

Deck the halls and get ready for very merry sweet treats, like fudge, cookies, Christmas morning breakfasts, layer cakes, martinis, cocoa, and more.

I joined earlier this week with recipes for Gingerbread Cupcakes with Eggnog Buttercream and Joulutorttu (Finnish Christmas Tarts). This Salted Caramel Affogato is my final post for the event!

Salted Caramel Affogato

Pouring Espresso into a clear glass for Salted Caramel Affogato.

After four years in DC, I am still getting used to the 60-70˚F temperatures during December here in Southern California.

This Salted Caramel Affogato is quite the decadent treat to enjoy during the still warm winter days.

Freshly prepared espresso is flavored with a splash of Torani Salted Caramel Syrup, poured over vanilla gelato, and topped with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce (I am particularly fond of my Vanilla Bean Caramel Sauce).

After I finished taking the photos, Claire said it was missing something and added a pinch of Sweets & Treats’ Snow Queen Sprinkles Mix. It definitely did make the Affogato more festive for the season!
